Blocks

Write with a powerful block-based editor

Every piece of content on a page in Speare is a block. This makes it easy to reorder your thoughts by drag and drop. Plus, you can nest blocks inside one another to create outlines with collapsible toggles, and much more.

Organize your thoughts with ease

Writing should be about simply capturing your thoughts as you’re inspired. Many of us, however, struggle to capture our thoughts because we can be too focused on capturing them in the perfect order. This leads to ideas being forgotten and sometimes causes writer’s block. Speare fixes this problem. Now you capture your thoughts as they come, and then rearrange them by drag and drop later.

Create outlines with collapsible toggles

Create outlines by nesting blocks inside one another. Any block with nested content will have a toggle displayed next to it. This gives you the ability to collapse the content underneath, allowing you to focus on the content you care about the most.

Create different types of blocks with the slash command

Do you want the next block to be a bulleted item, a header, or a block quote? Type a forward slash to choose what the next type of block will be.

Change a block's style with the block menu

To change a block from one type to another, click on the block menu button and choose the block type that you want to switch to.

Quickly format any text-based block with Markdown

Format text-based blocks faster than ever with Markdown. If you're new to Markdown, you can check out this handy cheatsheet from our help center.
