Import Text from another Document

There isn't an import feature yet, but in the meantime you can copy and paste large sections of text from Word, your browser, or from another Speare document into the text box.

Copy/Paste text from Word into Speare

1. Open your Word document

2. Select [Cmd|Ctrl]-A to highlight the entire document

3. Select [Cmd|Ctrl]-C to copy the selection

4. Open Speare and create or select the document you want to paste the text into

5. Select the text box in the bottom left corner of Speare and select [Cmd|Ctrl]-V

6. Then press the Enter key

Copy/Paste text from a Website

1. Open Speare and create or select the document you want to paste the text into

2. In the text box in the bottom left corner of Speare enter the reference of the author last name, first initial, (date), title, [web link] (web link).

3. Highlight the section of text you want to copy from the website

4. In Speare, click the reference you've created in step 2

5. Paste the text into the text box in Speare and hit Enter.

Copy/Paste text from another Speare document

1. Open the Speare document that you want to copy text from

2. In the Canvas, click on the building block that represents the text you want

3. Highlight the text in the Reader and select [Cmd|Ctrl]-C

4. Open the Speare document you wish to paste the text into

5. Paste the text into the text box in the bottom left corner of the Speare document [Cmd|Ctrl]-V

6. Then press the Enter key
