What the heck is a "Document Filter"? Good question. Speare's documents are stored in a flat file. That means you don't put them into folders, you simply filter the list of documents in order to find the group of documents you want. For example, if you want to find all the documents that have the word "Letter" in them, you'd use the "Find a doc" feature in the documents list and enter "Letter" in it.

Here's the contents of the first building block which highlights in blue the link for a "Document Filter."

So, if you have a document that you are using for notes or research and it references a group of documents that all have a particular keyword in their title, you can filter them automatically in the document list by creating a "Document Filter."
